EU LOT 4 Framework Contract, EU Government, BrusselsWORLDWIDEONGOINGIn 2018 HDC in conjunction with GFA Consulting in Hamburg, Germany was awarded the 5-year Lot 4 Framework contract. HDC is now a recognised as official tourism, heritage and culture expert advisors to the EU. The Lot 4 program provides rapid-response, short-term technical assistance to European Union delegations in developing countries around the world.
New Delhi Zoo, IndiaINDIADec 2018HDC contracted by the zoo to research, plan and design a new-build nocturnal animal visitor centre in New Delhi Zoo.
Sir Baniyas Island, UAEUAEDec 2018HDC commissioned to plan, design, build indoor and outdoor interpretive media and exhibits for Sir Baniyas Island historic Christian church site and visitor centre. As part of the project we have developed a series of new solar powered LED light fittings to illuminate interpretation panels and signs at night.
Bath Spa, Bath, UKUKDec 2018HDC Contracted by Bath Spa to plan, design and build interpretive exhibits at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust Cumbria, UKUKNov 2018HDC commissioned to plan, design and build two unique visitor centre buildings designed around old steam-era railway goods wagons for the Smardale Gill Nature Reserve. The reserve occupies a 8km/5mile section of the disused railway line that once ran from Tebay to Darlington. Stunning scenery of this species-rich site contrasts with the abandoned industrial archaeology of the railway line, lime kilns, bridges and viaduct.
Hayle Park Nature Reserve, Kent, UKUKOct 2018HDC commissioned to plan, write, illustrate, design, build site wide information and interpretation for Hayle Park Nature Reserve.
Southwold, Suffolk, UKUKSep 2018HDC commissioned by the town council to plan, write, illustrate, design, build information and interpretation for the historic Suffolk seaside town of Southwold and local nature reserve.
Royal Commission, Al Ula, Saudi ArabiaSAUDI ARABIASep 2018HDC commissioned to deliver a huge heritage destination research, planning and development project in the Al Ula area of Saudi Arabia in conjunction with Oliver Wyman Consulting and Atkins Consulting. Project area covering many hundreds of miles and included Al Ula old town, Madin Selah UNESCO World Heritage Site, prehistoric landscape and the planning and development of  the historic Hijaz railway, 16 new museums, visitor centres, geological, paleontological, natural and historic sites, many of which are tier 1 global importance.
St Dogmaels, Wales, UKUKAug 2018HDC commissioned by the town council to plan, write, illustrate, design, build information and interpretation the riverside park in St Dogmaels.
Oakham War Memorial, Rutland, UKUKAug 2018HDC commissioned by a benefactor to plan, research, write, illustrate, design and build interpretation commemorating WW1. Interpretive themes local characters and local regiments involved on the Western Front between 1914 and 1918.
Canals & Rivers Trust, Pocklington Canal, Yorkshire, UKUKAug 20q8HDC in conjunction with PLB Consulting commissioned by the Canals & Rivers Trust, to plan, design, build and install site wide information and interpretation exhibits along 20 miles of this historic waterway.
Kew Gardens Millennium Seed Bank, Wakehusrt Place, Sussex, UKUKJul 2018HDC commissioned by Kew Gardens to design, build and install interpretation at the Millennium Seed Banks. Interpretive themes covered the flora and different habitats.
Caister Roman Town, Norfolk, UKUKJun 2018HDC commissioned by Norfolk Archaeology Trust to plan, design, build and install visitor orientation around Caister Roman Town.
Ras al-Khaimah Tourist Authority, Wasit Wetland Centre, Sharjah, UAE UAEJun 2018HDC commissioned to plan, design, build interpretive exhibits for the new Wasit Wetland Centre and Conservation Area in Sharjah.

Tunbridge Wells Commons, Kent, UKUKApr 2018HDC commissioned by the Commoner Trustees to plan, research, write, illustrate, design, build and install wayside interpretation thought Tunbridge Well's two large commons (common land). Interpretive themes covered natural, historical and culture of the town.
Myerscough College, Lancashire, UKUKMar 2018HDC commissioned by the college to plan, research, write, illustrate, design, build and install interpretation in 2 new cultivated grassland gardens. Interpretive themes covered the science of grass, genetic modifications and management.
Dudley Zoo, West Midlands, UKUKJan 2018HDC commissioned by Dudley Zoo to plan, research, write, illustrate, design & build enclosure interpretation thought the zoo. Unusually for a zoo, the focus of the interpretive themes covered the history and architecture of the zoo, rather than the animal in it!
